Vegas/Calgary/Philadelphia

Vegas Golden Knights acquire defenseman Noah Hanifin in a three-team trade with the Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers. Calgary receives a 1st-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, defenseman Daniil Miromanov, and a conditional 3rd-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Philadelphia receives a 5th-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft

Rangers/Kraken

New York Rangers acquire forward Alex Wennberg from the Seattle Kraken for 2nd-round pick in 2024 NHL Draft and a conditional 4th-round pick in 2025 NHL Draft.

Edmonton/Anaheim/Tampa Bay

Edmonton Oilers acquire forwards Adam Henrique, Sam Carrick, unsigned draft choice goalie Ty Taylorand a 7th-round draft pick in 2024 NHL Draft in a three-team trade with the Anaheim Ducks and Tampa Bay Lightning. Anaheim receives 1st-round pick in 2024 NHL Draft and a conditional 5th-round pick in 2025 NHL draft from Edmonton. Tampa Bay receives 4th-round pick in 2026 NHL Draft from Edmonton.

Colorado/Buffalo

Colorado Avalanche acquire forward Casey Mittelstadt from the Buffalo Sabres for defenseman Bowen Byram.

Colorado/Philadelphia

Colorado Avalanche acquire defenseman Sean Walker and a 5th-round pick in 2026 NHL Draft from the Philadelphia Flyers for forward Ryan Johansen and a conditional 1st-round pick in 2025 NHL Draft.

Florida/Ottawa

Florida Panthers acquire forward Vladimir Tarasenko from the Ottawa Senators for a conditional 4th-round pick in 2024 NHL Draft and a 3rd-round pick in 2025 NHL Draft.

Pospisil suspended 3 games

Calgary’s Martin Pospisil has been suspended for 3 games for boarding Seattle’s Vince Dunn during the game in Calgary Monday night. A major penalty and a game misconduct were assessed in game for the third period hit, which resulted in an injury on Dunn.

Pospisil has been neither fined nor suspended in his 45 game NHL career but has been ejected three times so far this season. The two previous ejections came against hits on Winnipeg’s Cole Perfetti during the pre-season and Boston’s Brad Marchand in February. The next game he will be eligible to play in will be Tuesday night against the Avalanche.

Nick Cousins fined $2k

Florida Panther forward Nick Cousins was fined $2,000 today for embellishment in a game against Buffalo on Feb. 27. The rule (#64) is designed to bring attention to and penalize players and teams who repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties. The funds will go to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

PWHL players enjoy physicality

In a break from previous top professional women's hockey leagues, the PWHL has written into its rules more body checking than most might be used to. The skaters say the leeway gives them a better chance to show their skills and restores the traditional balance between finesse and physicality familiar to hockey fans everywhere. Full story.
